Community Engagement Project (CEP)

For this short semester, I attended Usrah Budi 3 class from July to August. Then, I form a group of five with my classmates to create a community engagement program entitled Depression is a Sign of Weak Iman? We choose this title because it is one of the current issues that have been the talk of people in social media and also the whole community. Our main concerns are to explain the meaning of depression and how it is related with our faith or iman. 

For this project, we design a poster, an informative poster to share with our friends and our followers in social media. We divided the main points to 4, which is:

1. What is Depression?
2. Relation between Depression and Iman
3. Depression in the Quran and Hadith
4. How Islam deals with Depression?

Our aim for this project is to give awareness on the mental health and how Islam sees it, some people tend to say that weak Iman is the cause of depression, but it is not. Thus, we come up with our research and findings regarding this topic. We really hope that everyone will understand better about the Depression and Iman as we are living in the society that require us to help each other. 

The poster as you can see I put it at the top of this post is designed by all of my group member. Then, we share it through our own social media and receive the feedbacks from our followers and friends. 
As for me I posted it at my Whatsapp Status. I received some good feedbacks and comment that make our project better.

This topic is quite heavy actually because it involves psychology and Islamic perspectives, however we just explain the surface and not giving a very deep explanation. But, still we need to be careful in choosing the right information, or else it will be like one of the feedback I got above. Some symptoms only that high Iman can help, but we did not state the symptom and it make one of my friend misunderstood the point. However I have explained the context of the point. 

After we have posted the poster in our social media, then we present our project in the class through Google Meet. 




Alhamdulillah we delivered the presentation smoothly.

  A normal human being, make sins everyday. We never escape from making mistakes in the world. These sins have become black spots in our hearts and make them sick. This video from Yasmin Mogahed gives us an awareness of this. My Experience & Hope

 The Community Engagement Project has given a precious experience for me. When I was searching for the information and discussing with my groupmates regarding the topic 'Depression is a sign of weak Iman', I got to reflect myself to always be concerned with people's emotion. The importance of faith is one of the point that give me a bigger relation of mental health and Iman.  Usrah Budi session is one of my resting and gaining knowledge platform. There are so many topics covered by Naqibah and group projects that acknowledge various issues and concerned. I feel happy with this group of people because everyone is very responsive and like to voice out their opinion. I can benefits a lot from this session. Alhamdulillah.  I hope for the next Usrah Budi or any study circle I may have more fun activities because nowadays we are having online class, and sometimes I lost my focus in class. USRAH BUDI 4 Reflection

 I have joined Usrah Budi 4 class for this semester, Semester 2, 2021/2022 with Sister Fida Ibrahim. The usrah session this time was more fun because there were various types of input given. Usrah sessions are filled with beneficial activities such as Tadabbur, sharing sessions, games, short film reviews and more. I love usrah sessions that have a variety of activities and provide knowledge and teaching at the same time. In terms of the content of the partnership, all of those partnerships can serve as a reminder to myself in being grateful and always remembering God. It became my spiritual food in my busy study. Sometimes the naqibah will give me a task to review a song or a short video, this activity opened my eyes to better think and understand the beauty of Islam.
